This is the short version: Marketools is an AI tool that turns your brand's public website into static ads. To do that, we collect a small amount of data from you and from your site, and we use a few third-party services to run the pipeline.
What we collect
- Your email address and name when you sign in (via Google or via the email magic-link flow).
- Your brand's website URL and the pages we crawl from it — product names, images, prices, colors, fonts, and on-site copy. This is information that is already publicly visible on your site.
- Any brand details you confirm or edit inside Marketools (brand name, colors, fonts, language, target market).
- Generated ad images produced by our pipeline. These are stored in Cloudflare R2 so you can download them.
- Basic product usage: which steps you completed and when, so we can fix broken flows and improve onboarding.
- Your Meta connection (optional). If you connect your Facebook/Instagram ad account to use the Ads Manager, we receive from Meta: your name and Facebook user id, the list of ad accounts, pages and pixels you authorize, and an access token to act on your behalf. Only what you authorize on Meta's screen.
What we do with it
- Generate ads for you.
- Remember your brand so you don't have to re-enter it.
- Send transactional email (sign-in links, completion emails).
- Monitor errors in production via Sentry so we can fix bugs quickly.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with anyone outside the subprocessors listed below.
Your Meta connection (Ads Manager)
The access token Meta issues is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) in our database — never in plain text — and is used only for what you asked: creating campaigns and ads in your account when you launch them from Marketools.
We never publish anything without your explicit action, and everything launches paused by default so you can review it in your Meta Ads Manager before activating.
You can disconnect your account at any time from the Marketools Ads Manager (the token is deleted), or request deletion from your Facebook settings — our integration processes those deletion requests automatically.
Subprocessors
We process data on the following infrastructure:
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Neon — Postgres database (US East).
- Cloudflare R2 — object storage for generated ads and benchmark images.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI model for brand and ad copy analysis.
- fal.ai — AI model for ad image generation.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Inngest — background job orchestration.
- Sentry — error monitoring.
- Google — optional OAuth sign-in.
- Meta — processes your ad-account connection and the campaign/ad creation you order (only if you connect your Meta account).
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and all associated data at any time. Email privacy@marketools.ai and we'll handle it within 30 days.
